Migrating Data Amongst Disks Using Samsung Data Migration Software

In Our article How to increase Old Laptop speed by replacing Laptop DVD with an SSD drive (Link), we have shown the way to increase the speed and capacity of Laptop  by replacing optical Drive. Now If you want to clone your existing HDD data to SSD, you can use a tool Samsung data migration. In this tutorial, we are going to clone an existing Windows system from HDD to a Samsung brand solid-state drive (SSD).  Cloning is the faster way to move your data from HDD to SSD without losing anything. Here we are using Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD.

Step 1: Turn the computer on the laptop and download the Data Migration Software from Samsung’s website. After download runs the .exe file and install the software.

Step 2: After installation completes run the Samsung Data Migration Software, the software will check for the update first. Once an update is complete a start page will open. Just click the start button given at the bottom.

Step 3: After step 2, a page will open that shows the source and target drive options available:

Select the drive you want to clone from is selected at the top, and the new Samsung SSD is selected at the bottom.  When ready, click 'Start', and then click 'Yes' to confirm.  After cloning, boot your system using the SSD and finally, all your drive data will show in the SSD

Note: Make sure you have selected the proper drive carefully as the target drive will be wiped clean.
