Micromax launches Yuphoria with Cyanogen OS 12 at Rs. 6,999

After creating much hype for its second generation Yu device, Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures finally revealed the smartphone named Yuphoria in India at a price of 6,999.

Designed and build in India, the smartphone will follow the flash sale model through Amazon.in. The registration for the smartphone starts today at 5 PM and it will go on sale on May 28, 2015.

Yuphoria Specifications:

Yuphoria boasts a 5.0 inch HD TFT IPS display that delivers 294ppi and comes equipped with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The smartphone is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU and has 2 GB RAM for multitasking. The graphical needs will be handled by Adreno 306 GPU.

Operating system is the highlight of the Yu devices and Yuphoria comes with the latest Cyanogen 12 over Android 5.0 Lollipop. Micromax has also added some extra tweaks. There is an App Themer, which lets you customise the look of a particular application. The Dialer of the smartphone is integrated with True Caller, however you can switch it off from the settings menu.

Yuphoria has a centrally aligned 8 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture that can record Full HD videos. Moreover the camera can also shoot Slow motion videos at 60 and 120 FPS. The front has a 5 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 86 degree wide angle lens.

The smartphone is 4G LTE ready and comes with 16 GB internal storage, however there is no microSD card slot to expand the storage. Another interesting thing about the smartphone is that it comes equipped with Wolfson Stereo DCA chip to deliver an amazing level of audio quality.

Yuphoria is backed by a 2230 mAh battery unit and will come with Quick Charge 1.0 fast charging technology.

Unfolding the surprise, Micromax also launched a Health Band-YUFIT and a health monitoring device- HEALTHYU at Rs. 999 and Rs. 4,999 respectively.
