At its annual general meeting, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced that the Jio Fiber consumers are also entitled for a fixed line phone service – Jio Home Phone (earlier referred as Jio FixedVoice). The service was spotted to be in testing phase in April. The company is now rolling out the landline service to the existing Jio Fiber users.
Ambani also announced that the Jio Fiber users need only to pay for data, and will get the Jio Home Phone service free of cost. Here is how Jio Fiber users can activate Jio Home Phone landline services.
For existing Jio Fiber users
If you are an existing Jio Fiber customer, you can do so from the MyJio app. Click to open the MyJio app and tap into Jio GigaFiber account. Click on the recharge option, which will issue a pop-up window to navigate you through the activation process.
Make sure you have a running mobile number, as during the process, Jio will send an OTP to your registered mobile number. After you have entered the OTP, the Jio Home Phone landline service will get activated.
For new customers
New customers need not go through the steps required by existing Jio Fiber users, as the Jio Home Phone service is automatically activated for them when they install a new connection. At the time of installation, they will be provided with a landline number.
In case you don’t have a landline number, Jio Fiber users can still make calls using smartphones, just like they do in JioFi.
