Jio Developers Program to Focus on Developing Apps for Jio TV+ Set Top Box

Jio just announced its very own developers program that will encourage Indian developers. The program is called Jio developers and follows the Prime Minister’s Aatm Nirbhar Yojna. The program is called Jio Developers. According to the Jio developers, the program will be focused as of now to develop apps for the Jio TV+ box. The website also says that anyone who becomes a Jio developer will be able to easily monetize the app on the platform. Details of how the apps will be monetized remain unclear at the moment. Jio will also provide the developers with support so they have a more hassle-free experience developing apps. As far as cross-platform compatibility is concerned between the apps that will be developed for Jio TV+ and will those apps be available on other smart tv platforms remains to be seen. 

Jio is clearly pushing the Jio TV+ as their next big offering to the average consumers. The Jio developers program website clearly states that they want developers who can develop apps for the Jio STB box. Jio is advertising to the developers that apps that are released on the Jio STB will give the developers more reach, monetization, and easy publishing. 

To help developers in their journey of developing apps for Jio STB Jio has offered multiple tools on the website to get started. There is a Jio Developer kit that will help the developers in getting started. There are also Jio STB Development Tools and Libraries and SDK so developers get all the necessary tools they need to create apps for the Jio STB. 

Jio is also making sure that all the apps that are developed under the Jio developers program are secure. There are app submission guidelines that developers have to follow in order to publish their apps on the platform. One of the more interesting aspects of the Jio developers program is that since the apps will be in essence Android apps so it remains to be seen if they will run on platforms like Amazon fire tv and other Android Tv platforms.
