The iPhone 15 series will be unveiled by Apple in September of this year. The Cupertino-based corporation will actively enhance its hardware specs to create an ecosystem for Vision Pro, said reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo claims that Apple intends to ship the iPhone 15 with an upgraded Ultra Wideband processor (UWB). For close-by interactions, the updated chipset will offer better performance and less battery usage. He claims that switching from a 16nm to a more modern 7nm fabrication method could be necessary.
Since the iPhone 11, Apple has used the same U1 UWB chip. The Apple HomePod mini, the second-generation HomePod, the case for the brand-new AirPods Pro, and AirTags all make use of the same chipset. The U1 has AirDrop, Handoff, Precision Finding, and Find My Features features.
In addition, Kuo believes that the iPhone 16 will include Wi-Fi 7, which will enhance the ecosystem experience and make it easier for Apple to integrate hardware products running on the same local network.
Additional improvements
In the meantime, the iPhone 15 and its Plus version are expected to get three big improvements over their predecessors. There are rumors that the standard iPhone 15 series models will include Apple's new Dynamic Island feature and, possibly, a display design with punch-holes. However, no official confirmation of this has been provided.
According to a rumor that has been going around for some time, the punch-hole design is currently only available on models of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro. However, it is possible that this will change with the release of the iPhone 15 series.
Camera Updates (Expected)
Camera updates rumored to be coming to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus include a 48-megapixel camera upgrade. Compared to the current iPhone models' 12 MP sensors, this would be a significant advancement. The switch from Apple's Lightning port, which was present on previous iPhone models, to a USB Type-C port is another significant change that is anticipated to occur in the 2023 iPhones.
