Chinese smartphone maker Vivo’s sub-brand iQoo has announced to launch its first smartphone on March 1 in its domestic market. The phone has been teased a number of times on the internet and several features have already been known including Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.
The smartphone is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and will go head to head with the Galaxy S10 and the upcoming OnePlus 5G.
The company has requested fans to register for the event and select fans will be sponsored to watch the launch live in Shenzhen, China. The launch teaser doesn't reveal any particular information about the smartphone, and carries two taglines -- born powerful and monster insider. We believe ‘monster insider’ could be a reference to the Snapdragon 855 processor which is Qualcomm's flagship processor.
Earlier, iQoo announced that the upcoming smartphone will feature 12GB of RAM, 256GB of inbuilt storage and a large 4,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. Other specs include a USB Type-C port, NFC, in-display fingerprint sensor and Super HDR camera technology.
The back of the phone could be home to a triple camera setup. It is still unclear whether the new iQoo phone will be launched in other markers too, outside of China.
Considering the Vivo’s huge marketing spends recently, it seems like iQoo will be taking the high-road and will fight in the flagship space.
