With this deployment, the airline has managed to provide a morning dashboard to all its airport managers, thereby improving their productivity and operational efficiency
IndiGo has an aggressive plan to grow by 3x, and is banking on the power of analytics to achieve it. There was a strong need to provide the right information to the right people at the accurate time, so collaborative business intelligence and business analytics were the need of the hour. The airline felt that there was a strong need to incorporate fact based decision making not only at higher levels, but into all their daily activities. The aviation giant successfully deployed BI and Analytics, and the man at the helm of the same was Pankaj Khare.
The Solution
Pankaj spearheads the IT division of the organization and offers vision and leadership for developing IT initiatives. Keeping the airlines’ aggressive growth plans in mind. He implemented BI/Analytics based on BISM (Business Intelligence Semantic Model) Methodology in order to meet the required needs.
Even preparation of ROI and showcasing business values to executive committee was a big challenge. Real success came when technology integrated with other tools, and started delivering business benefits as outcomes. He worked closely with all functional heads and educated and trained their teams to achieve tangible benefits.
He deployed various technologies like MS BIC with ETL, ROLAP and MOLAP and the impact is so profound that it is changing the role of employees in the organization. Today, every department is using BI/MIS reports that have enhanced productivity of department and also the entire organization. With the help of this platform not only corporates, but every airport manager can see his own key parameters every morning, which is known as Good Morning Airport Dashboard.
Apart from this vast role Khare also develops the lead IT strategic and operational planning by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
As alumni of Government Engineering College Bilaspur, Khare started his career with HCL Connect Systems Services Limited.
