Huawei P30 Pro, successor to P20 will be launched at an event in Paris on March 26. Clement Wong, VP of Global Product Marketing at Huawei Consumer Business Group in a meeting at MWC 2019 had confirmed that the upcoming P30 Pro smartphone will come with a periscope-style camera capable of "super-zoom" technology which will build on the legacy of already magnificent P20 Pro’s camera.
The Huawei P30 Pro will improve the picture quality multi-fold, especially in the low light condition thereby leaving a lasting impact on the overall camera experience, the company said.
Earlier this year, Huawei Business Group CEO Richard Yu shared a photo of the moon in celebration of the Chinese Lantern Festival and confirmed the number of cameras on the Huawei P30 Pro.
As seen in the image above, the watermark reads “HUAWEI *** Pro” and Leica QU** CAMERA”. It is easy to decode that the covered alphabets after “QU” are “A” and “D” to form the word “QUAD”.
The company will also announce P30 smartphone. Both the smartphones are expected to come with high-end octa core processor and could be launched in two variants 8GB and 12GB. The Huawei P30 Pro is expected to be one of the first phones to come with Sony’s IMX607’s 38MP camera sensor.
One of the secondary cameras is rumoured to have a periscope lens for a higher optical zoom, while other one is expected to be a wide-angle lens. The fourth camera could be a time of flight sensor (ToF) sensor.
Both the P30 and P30 Pro will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980.
‘The company’s strong business position follows among others from the success of the sale of flagship smartphones – the P20 and Mate20 series combined with the continued demand for products from the medium price segment, among others P series smart. At the end of March this year Huawei will present in Paris the latest smartphones from the flagship P series,’ the company said in an earlier press statement.
Huawei has been ranked 12th on the ‘Brand Finance Global 500 2019’ with an increase in its brand value by more than 63 per cent.
