Ten in every eleven users would consider HP while buying their next Commercial PC.
Desktop PCs are not going anywhere. They are here and will be so in the future. The reasons for choosing a PC could be different. But we all know that when you need the ultimate computing power with expandability, then the PC remains the best choice.
The story got reversed in – last year, Dell was the champion in PC category and HP was in Laptop category. But this time Dell is winner of laptop and HP is holding the first spot in commercial PCs.
In the Familiarity Index, HP achieved the maximum score of 95 followed by its close competitor Dell at 92. Lenovo once again grabbed the third spot with a score of 57,followed by Acer and Apple at 43 and 24 respectively.

When it comes to Spontaneous Awareness, both HP and Dell were on top with a score of 99. Lenovo was a bit behind with a score of 96, followed by Acer at 88 and Apple at 74.
Acer did better in the spontaneous scoring this time. Last year, it was at fifth place and this time it’s one better.
The Commercial PC market is still dominated by the two giants HP and Dell: HP is at 48% and Dell not far behind at 35%. Acer came in next with a score of 7% followed by Lenovo at 6%, and Asus at 3%.
Amazingly, the distribution of these brands in the market has tremendous gap. Without a doubt HP and Dell are dominating and if other brands wish to gain, they have to make some smart moves.
Who will rule the future? Our participants would prefer to consider Dell, the brand scored the highest: 91. This means, other brands can lose some of its customers in the near future. HP will also likely gain in future with a score of 80, followed by Lenovo with a score of 55, Acer with a score of 26 and Asus with a score of 12.
Why are our participants are choosing these brands? Once again brand name and quality are top priorities and most the respondent trusted HP and Dell. Lenovo and Acer were preferred for their after sales support/service and Asus for quality of product.
