Honor X8b
On Monday, 18 December, the Honor X8b was released in a few markets. The Honor X8b phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC and comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 35W wired fast charging. It also has a 108-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera sensor that allows 1080p video recording. Notably, the Honor X7b was announced earlier this month with a chipset and primary camera identical to the recently launched Honor X8b.
Price and availability of the Honor X8b
The Honor X8b is available in Glamorous Green, Midnight Black, and Titanium Silver colorways. It costs SAR 799 (approximately Rs. 17,700) in Saudi Arabia and RM 999 (about Rs. 17,700) in Malaysia for its 8GB + 512GB edition. According to its global listing, it will also be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, though Honor has not disclosed the price of these storage options. The company has not announced whether the phone will be available in other markets.
Honor X8b technical specifications
The Honor X8b has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (2,412 x 1,080 pixel) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a PWM dimming rate of 3,240Hz, and a maximum brightness level of up to 2,000 nits. It comes with MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13, with the Magic Capsule feature surrounding the pill-shaped cutout that houses the front camera and flash. This feature, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, displays notifications to users.
The Honor X8b is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 CPU with 8GB of RAM. RAM can be practically expanded up to an additional 8GB. The Honor X8b phone also has up to 512GB of internal storage. The Honor X8b has a 108-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera on the rear. Meanwhile, the 50-megapixel front camera sensor is housed in a centred pill-shaped slot with a soft LED flash unit. Both the front and rear cameras can record video in 1080p resolution.
The Honor X8b has a 4,500mAh battery and supports 35W wired fast charging. It has a fingerprint sensor on the side for added security. It also has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The Honor X8b handset weighs roughly 166 grams and has dimensions 161.05mm x 74.55mm x 6.78mm.
