How to Hide Last Seen in Truecaller

The ‘Last Seen’ feature was first introduced by WhatsApp when it was acquired by Facebook back in February of 2014, and since then the feature has been criticised by many and have been favoured by many. The ‘Last Seen’ if turned on shows when the user was last active on the messaging platform. And since many users found this feature to be invading their privacy, WhatsApp soon added an option to disable it. Now, another app – Truecaller – which enables people to search for people registered with their mobile number is adding the ‘Last Seen’ feature in the app. Here, in this article we will tell you how to hide last seen in Truecaller.

Earlier, Truecaller allowed users to search for numbers which the company has now removed. Now, users can search and request a specific person for their details. However, with the last seen, the issue of privacy still remains.

If the ‘Last Seen’ is turned on, anybody on Truecaller can view when you were last active. And since the app always runs in the background, here last seen means when you were active last time on your phone. And the only situation where the other person can’t see your last details is if they aren’t on Truecaller or have disabled the feature.

Here is how to hide last seen in Truecaller

Open Truecaller and tap on the top-left Menu tab.

Go to settings, then tap on the General tab.

In the General settings tab, you will see an ‘availability slider’ which is blue when active. Click on it to deactivate it.

If you are an iPhone user, you will be able to see the availability of Android users when it is turned on. On the other hand, an Android users won’t be able to see the ‘last seen’ status of an iPhone user thanks to the privacy limitations in iOS.
