Google has removed 9 android apps for allegedly stealing Facebook passwords. Passwords, especially Facebook passwords, are very important in the world of digitization. Facebook has been infamous for stealing and selling users' data to companies for quite some time now.
However, Facebook is on the receiving end of things this time around, it seems. Facebook has been adding multiple features to make the user experience better. There are features like story and marketplace. This was an effort done to regain the replenishing user base.
On July 5, 2021, Google has removed 9 android apps for stealing the Facebook passwords of users. These apps already look shady and ask for multiple permissions that are not relevant for the functions of the app.

It is high time now that users, especially of the android platform, stop trusting apps that ask for permissions that might be related to your personal data and passwords. Many apps can also ask for permissions regarding camera, microphone and location. Photo editing apps don't need permissions for microphones and locations.
