Google will introduce the Pixel 8 series in the third quarter of this year after releasing the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold smartphones during I/O 2023. Even though the forthcoming smartphones' launch may be months away, reports have thoroughly examined their processors and cameras. Android Authority recently released the Pixel 8 series' exact display specifications.
The news source disclosed the following smartphones' screen setups by citing a Google source. The Pixel 8's screen will likely be smaller than the 6.3-inch Pixel 7 at 6.17 inches. The larger Pixel 8 Pro sibling may share the same 6.7-inch screen size as its forerunner. However, the panel might be flat this time as opposed to the curved display of the Pixel 7 Pro.
HDR Peak brightness
The peak brightness could undergo yet another significant change. The high dynamic range (HDR) on the Pixel 8 Pro could reach 1,600 nits. The Pixel 8, though, might get 1,400 nits. This might improve the Pixel 7 series' current brightness of 1,000 nits.
Display resolution and technology
The Pixel 8 Pro's display will have an OLED panel. However, it may have a screen with a slightly lower resolution and a lower pixel-per-inch (PPI) density. The Pixel 8's screen resolution and PPI might not change.
Refresh rate
The Google Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 may have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. That would improve compared to the Pixel 7's 90 Hz screen refresh. According to other reports, the Pixel 8 Pro is rumoured to contain an IR thermometer adjacent to the camera module on the rear. A Tensor G3 CPU may power smartphones. The Pixel 8 Pro may have a 50MP primary, 64MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto lens for photography. There might be a dual camera system on the back of the basic model (50MP + 12MP).
The launch date for the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro
Android Authority says the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro phones may go on sale in September or October this year.
