The seven emojis are thumbs up/ down, happy face with heart-eyes, face with tears of joy, face with mouth open, crying face, and angry face.

The expanded emoji responses appear to be a limited test at this point, according to a 9to5Google report.

Meanwhile, Google continues to refine the experience with the default Android messaging app, Google Messages. After not getting Apple's RCS support, Google Messages is now testing the capability to reply to a message with any emoji.

Now when you tap and hold an incoming message on the Google Messages app, you can reply with any emoji you wish. A new icon in the emoji chooser shows the option to add a new emoji that isn’t listed.

You can tap on the emoji in the corner of the replied message and get a near view of this emoji next to the name of the recipient that replied with it. However, all the names and emojis they replied with will appear in a pop-up hint, if viewing responses from a group message.

Presently, the feature is only available from the latest Google Messages Beta release and might take time to roll out globally.
