It was in September 2014 that Apple launched its most advanced smartphones ; iPhone 6 and 6 Plus globally. And now, six months later, which is a substantial time in the world of technology, the details of the next generation Apple devices has started to surface. If rumors to be believed, the Cupertino giant will introduce three new smartphones; iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6C in the later 2015.
Apple is known for not altering the screen size and the overall design frequently and iPhone 6S will follow the same tradition. It is going to be a 4.7" display as the size seems to be perfect for all the multimedia requirements one can expect from a smartphone. The display units will be supplied by LG, Sharp and japan Display.
The screens will feature a new type of glass, codenamed "Project Phire," from the house of Corning. It will offer the durability of Gorilla Glass 4 and supreme scratch resistance ability of Sapphire.
We also expect the design to follow the same grounds of iPhone 6. However, in addition to Silver, Gold and Space Grey, we can see some new color options as reports suggests that a pink version of iPhone 6S is expected.
iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be powered by the latest Apple A9 chip, rumored to be manufacture by Samsung-one of its biggest rivals, whereas the iPhone 6C is expected to be launched with the A8 chip. The processor will be accompanied by the improved M9 co-processor for handling tasks related to sensors such as barometer, touch ID, etc. Moreover, a significant bump in RAM is expected, doubling the current 1GB RAM (in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus) to 2 for the new iPhones.
The three smartphones will be equipped with NFC and improved Touch ID sensor to even monitor pulse and blood pressure.
It is already noted that Apple was recently granted a patent for a digital camera with light splitter, which can result in a new advanced three-sensor based camera module integrated with optical zoom. This is expected to deliver DSLR-quality imagery which will take smartphone photography to a new level.
Another sought after feature to be expected from the new iPhones is some sort of protection from water and dust as the competitors are already offering smartphones with IP58, IP67 and IP68 protection ratings. The expectations rises considering a recent patent which suggests that the manufacturer is working on a method to offer to internal electrical components from moisture.
The reports says that in addition to Foxconn and Pegatron, Apple is likely to join hands with Wistron for the manufacturing of iPhone 6C.
