Micromax expanded its budget smartphone portfolio with the 3G enabled Canvas Spark. The smartphone will rival with the recently launched Moto E 3G and is priced at Rs. 4,999. The company has partnered with online e-commerce portal Snapdeal and the smartphone will be exclusively available from April 29. It will follow the flash sale model and the registrations starts on April 22.
The smartphone sports a 4.7-inch qHD IPS display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. We found the display bright enough and fairly touch responsive. The colors look punchy and vibrant.
Though it's priced at Rs. 4,999, the smartphone has a premium feel. The Whiteand Gold variant of Canvas Spark looks quite attractive from the back. The removable back panel feels good to hold and the smartphone is perfect for one hand usage. Canvas Spark is also available in Grey and Sliver.
Canvas Spark features an 8 MP rear Autofocus camera and a 2MP front fixed-focus camera. The company said that the cameras are paired with a new generation M8 Largan Lens and OV sensor 8858, which deliver sharp and clear images. In the initial expressions, we found the camera performance better than the Moto E 3G.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor, which is coupled with 1GB RAM to handle multitasking. There is 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up-to 32 GB via microSD card. Canvas Spark alsoc Comes with 2 months of 500MB free 3G data for Vodafone users.
Canvas Spark runs on Android 5.0 Lillipop, which makes it the most affordable smartphone with the latest Android OS. The phone comes preloaded with applications such as Snapdeal, Quiker, Hotstar, PayTM, etc.
Micromax canvas Spark is powered by a 2,000mAh battery and the company promised that it delivers up to 335 hours of backup on standby mode, which we will find out in the detailed review of the smartphone.
