Valve has finally announced a new Counter-Strike game - Counter-Strike 2 - and is now available to all users via the Steam platform. The game is free and all users can now download the game and start playing. But before we get into that, the biggest question here is, can your PC handle the new Counter-Strike? Check out the list to know system requirements for the game listed by Valve themselves.
Counter-Strike 2: System Requirements
Before getting into the game's system requirements, it's important to note that these are minimum requirements and any computer that meets these requirements can run the game. Anything above that will run the game at a higher frame rate. Valve has made the game available on Windows and Linux platforms. macOS is currently missing from the list.
Windows minimum requirements
OS: Windows 10
Processor: 4 hardware CPU threads - Intel Core i5 750 or higher
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Video card must be 1 GB or more and should be a DirectX 11-compatible with support for Shader Model 5.0
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 85 GB available space
Linux minimum requirements
OS: Ubuntu 20.04
Processor: 4 hardware CPU threads - Intel Core i5 750 or higher
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Storage: 85 GB available space
Sound Card: Highly recommended
What do the minimum requirements tell about the new Counter-Strike?
No matter the PC's specs, Counter-Strike has always been the game that can be played on it. With the most recent game, that persists. Accordingly, even somewhat outdated devices may run this game after glancing at the system requirements. For instance, the Direct X 11 GPU requirement for the Intel Core i5 7th generation CPU, which is also not the most recent DirectX version, is 1GB or more.
Overall, the game may be played on practically any PC, even if it has some outdated internal components.
