Microsoft has acknowledged that the Windows 11 22H2 upgrade contains problems that affect some PCs' ability to run games properly. Users have already reported several flaws following the Windows 11 22H2 update's release, including one allegedly preventing certain users from securely ejecting their USB devices from their PCs under specific circumstances. The error notice claiming that Windows 11 cannot terminate the USB device because another software is still utilising it only appears while the Task Manager is open.

What were the enhancements in Windows 11?

The first significant upgrade to Windows 11, introduced last year, was the 22H2 update, which started rolling out in late September. The new version introduced several enhancements to the OS, including drag-and-drop functionality for the Taskbar, improved Start menu customization choices, a new Task Manager, and more.

What were the most significant issues with the upgrade?

It lacked the eagerly anticipated tabbed File Explorer interface; that feature had to wait until the 22H2 'Moment 1' upgrade, which was released last month. Following the Sun Valley 2 update, one of the most significant issues impacting Windows 11 users is "worse than intended" game performance, including stuttering, screen tearing, and frame rate reductions. Microsoft claims that only a few games and apps accidentally enable GPU performance debugging options when this occurs. There have also been early complaints of G-Sync and audio issues with specific titles for NVIDIA GPU users.

Is Microsoft attempting to resolve the most recent Windows 11 bugs?

Microsoft says it has temporarily delayed the update for impacted devices as it works to resolve the most recent issue. Microsoft suggests users apply a workaround that entails upgrading the impacted games and gaming-related applications to the most recent versions while the fix is still unavailable.

Microsoft discovered a few more defects in both supported and unsupported versions of Windows, in addition to problems with game performance. Failures to log in and other issues with Kerberos authentication are foremost among them. The situation reportedly surfaced after installing the most recent upgrades, published on 8 November 2022. Microsoft is also working on a solution to this problem, which should be released as soon as possible.
