The best graphics card depends upon various factors which include price/budget, resolution, power supply, video memory etc.

Resolution and FPS: Serious gamers who want to play 4k resolution games, you need GPU like Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080. This card is a perfect fit to enjoy all high-resolution games. But if you are looking for affordable 1080p gaming then this is not for you.

Another essential feature is FPS, to enjoy 4k gaming you should also look at higher FPS GPU. RTX 3080 can legitimately do 4K ultra at 60 fps and supports up to 189 FPS.

Power supply (PSU): When upgrading your GPU, you need to ensure you purchase a GPU that suits to your power supply and has the right 6 or 8 pin connector(s). if your existing PSU has 6 pin connector(s) then look for GPU with 6 pin PEG connector(s).

Video Memory: The basic gaming GPU should have 4 GB video memory while 6 GB are better and 8 GB is strongly recommended. Higher is better, but it also depends on the games you are going to play. 8 GB video memory isn’t required for all games. As mentioned earlier, it depends on your games’ minimum video memory required, accordingly, you can choose your GPU. Games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice can run smoothly even on 2 GB graphics card, so choose accordingly.

FreeSync or G-Sync: Nvidia supports G-Sync while AMD supports FreeSync. It's important to check, which GPU is compatible with your screen. Displays can be compatible with G-sync or FreeSync. Meaning it will synchronize your GPU’s frame rate with your display’s refresh rate.
