Avaya Holdings Announces New Smart Desktop Devices for the Hospitality Industry

Avaya Holdings Corp. announced new and enhanced smart devices to drive digital transformation for hospitality companies, including a new release of Avaya Vantage, the company’s flagship device for delivering superior experiences, and a portfolio of IP devices designed specifically for the industry. These smart devices drive a new level of convenience and automation for hospitality companies, spurring revenue generation and market differentiation.

Hospitality providers are already using the Avaya Vantage device to furnish guests with new amenities, such as bedside environmental controls and access to services. Recent research in the US conducted by Avaya Holdings shows that these bedside features have very high value to business professionals, with three out of four respondents wanting bedside environmental controls, and with half of those surveyed wanting to view or request hotel services from a bedside device.

The ability to more effectively promote hotel services on a completely customizable touch screen can help transform a traditional cost-centre into a profit-centre, boosting hospitality provider revenue.

The latest release of Avaya Vantage will support hospitality businesses with the Avaya IP Office Platform in addition to Avaya Aura. Enhancements in the latest version will also allow guests to synch their personal mobile phone to the Avaya Vantage device to use while staying at the hotel.

Avaya Holdings’ new Hospitality IP devices portfolio initially consists of three new models. At the top of the line, the device includes a full 3.5-inch colour display screen, HD audio, programmable soft keys, and speaker with acoustic echo cancellation.

Mid-range has all the capabilities with the exception of the colour display. A standard device is designed specifically for bathrooms, business halls or other housekeeping and service areas.  All of these devices are supported by Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office as well as the Powered by Avaya IP Office cloud service available from Avaya channel partners.
