The Cupertino giant has launched its much anticipated Apple Watch just ahead of Diwali. However, maintaining the company’s tradition of costly products and that too with many restrictions, the watch has a tough competition ahead.
The Apple smartwatch comes in gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray, silver anodized aluminium; polished silver or Space Black stainless steel, and 18-Carat Rose Gold or Yellow Gold.
The watch comes in two different sizes, 38 mm and 42 mm, with three categories to choose from as per your pocket allows—Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition.The starting price of the Silver Aluminium Case and White Sport Band is Rs 30,900 for the 38mm and Rs 34,900 for the 42mm, making these two the cheapest of the lot.
It is Rs 48,900 and Rs 52,900 for the 38mm and 42mm Stainless Steel Case respectively, with White Sport Band.
Apple Watch Edition (made in 18-Carat Rose gold casing) is the most expensive of the lot. It comes at a kingly price of Rs 8.2 lakh for the 38mm model paired with the cheapest White Sport Band.
You need an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or later to use the watch.
The features of the Apple Watch
Digital Crown:
Apple watch integrates an innovative medium to scroll, zoom and navigate throughout the display. This circular crown lets you perform most of the functionalities without obstructing the display. It is something seen for the first time on the smartwatches.

Apple said that their watch keeps time to within 50 milliseconds of the universal time standard.
Personalization:

The Retina display with Force Touch
The smartwatch integrates a Force Touch technology senses the difference between a tap and a press, providing a whole new way to access relevant controls.
The smartwatch works on simple swipes. A swipe up from the watch face takes you to the information such as the weather forecast, current location on a map or the music.
It lets you send messages, read email and answer calls to your iPhone right from your wrist with voice commands.
The Taptic Engine alerts you with a tap so you won’t miss important notifications.
Another interesting feature is the Digital Touch, which allows users to communicate in all-new ways by sending a sketch, a tap or even the rhythm of your own heartbeat.
The Watch also integrates Apple Pay, which can be used to pay your shopping bills, boarding a plane with a Passbook boarding pass, or raising your wrist to ask Siri for turn-by-turn directions in Maps.
Apple watch integrates a host of sensors; accelerometer, a built-in heart rate sensor, GPS and Wi-Fi from your iPhone. The smartwatch works in sync with the Activity app on your iPhone, which collects your activity and workout data.
The Apple Watch collection comes with polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases. It has a Retina display, which is protected by a sapphire crystal.
The available options of straps are; stainless steel link bracelet and Milanese loop, and a black or white Sport Band.
The costliest, Apple Watch Edition integrates cases specially crafted from custom rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys, which are twice as hard as standard gold. The Retina display on this category is protected by polished sapphire crystal.
As you are spending a fortune on the smartwatch, Apple offers you a choice of uniquely designed straps and bands with 18-karat gold clasps, buckles or pins.
Apple has said that the watch delivers up to 18-hour all-day battery life.
