Apple has been known to take good care of its customers' data and making sure that it stays safe from getting breached. Taking this a step ahead, the company rolled out a new security patch update for iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watch. The update doesn't come with any feature but is still an update that the users would want to install.
Apple Devices Getting the Update
The security patch would update the iOS and iPadOS to 14.4.1, watchOS users will be upgraded to version 7.3.2. and MacOS will get updated to version 11.2.3. Users working with an older version of MacOS can update the Safari browser to version 14.0.3.
According to Apple, these updates are recommended and users should not have second thoughts about installing them.
Fixes
These newer versions will apparently fix a memory bug in the WebKit, the engine that powers Apple's Safari Browser. The bug can be activated by visiting a malicious site containing a code that can exploit this vulnerability. The exploitation can result in the attacker running malicious on the targeted Apple device.
The bugs were first reported by Google and Microsoft. However, these bugs have been exploited as the previous ones.
Last month, Apple pushed out iOS 14.4 to fix three WebKit vulnerabilities that were being “actively exploited.” The vulnerabilities were chained together to break into the underlying iPhone software.
Users should update it as soon as possible to maintain the security of their data.
