Apple is reportedly bringing retail staff members from every US store to Cupertino, California, in October to teach them about the usage and sales of the Vision Pro. A small group of employees from each store would be flown in, given the required training, and then expected to return to their locations to instruct the rest of the staff.

Training is expected to begin in early 2024, around when the company is expected to release the device. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says training for employees is now scheduled for mid-January. Sources say every employee has to undergo a two-day training to install Vision Pro.

Gurman points out that installing Vision Pro is complicated. Given its exorbitant price of $3,499, Apple can't afford to screw up the setup process. That's why store employees were invited to training before selling Vision Pro.

Why is training and testing necessary before launching Vision Pro?

Headphones must be customized for each individual, and a poor fit can ultimately ruin the user experience. Every step of the training is carefully planned, including how retail staff approach the customer and how they place the device on the wearer's head. While customers can reserve the Vision Pro online, it appears they are advised to pick up the device in-store.

Apple stores will soon receive new equipment to assemble and package the headphones, a sign that the launch is getting closer. The Vision Pro is initially only available in the United States, and customers must make an appointment at retail stores to purchase it.

Apple said the Vision Pro will arrive "in early 2024"; although the release was reportedly pushed to March, the company plans to release it by January. So if all goes according to plan, the release will happen before March 2024, when the calendar for new Macs and iPads clears.
