If there is one game that will define the year that is or was, depending on the time you are reading this is Among Us. A small indie social deduction game that was almost unknown is most of the world for the longest time but then became so big that even politicians started playing it. With 2020, a year that will be remembered for COVID-19, coming to an end we have to say that Among Us has outdone itself. The year is ending and the award season is just starting to ramp up but Among Us has already won one.
Gamesradar hosts Golden Joysticks awards each year to celebrate games that were more than just games and Among Us has won the Breakthrough Award for the year 2020. A much deserved award if we say so ourselves. Among Us did breakthrough 2020 and in many ways will be remembered as the game that made so much content for all the Homestuck folks with drama on Youtube and Twitch. With that being said, this is not going to be the last award that Among Us will be bagging this winter season.

The game is also nominated for the best mobile game of 2020 and for the best multiplayer game in The Game Awards for 2020. There is a huge chance that it will win the best mobile game of 2020 since the game has been viral among mobile players and even many PC players are using the android version of the game on emulators to play it for free. Needless to say but the game is making massive strides when it comes to bringing crossplay between PC players and Mobile players.
Unlike other games like Genshin Impact, a game that may very well be on a path to ruin gaming forever, Among Us crossplay might be the only hope we have to see improvement in mobile gaming. It remains to be seen how many more awards the game will be winning this year but as far as gaming is concerned, Among Us has already won what is truly important.
