CES 2020 is in full swing, and if the announcements are to are anything to go by, the competition between brands is only getting more exciting and the hardware is getting more powerful. One big announcement was that by AMD which announced their upcoming graphics card, the RADEON 5600 XT.
This is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s GTX 1660 Ti, which is one of the best graphics cards right now for budget gaming at 1080p. According to AMD, the 5600 XT will be the “ultimate 1080p” graphics card. It is designed specifically for gaming at 1080p and esports and will be based on their latest RDNA architecture. With a base clock speed of 1375 Mhz which can be boosted up to 1560 Mhz, 36 computing units and 6GB of DDR6 memory, AMD claims that it will be faster than GTX 1660 Ti by 12 to 26 percent at highest settings. It will be priced at $279, which is the same price as that of 1660 Ti.
Other than that, AMD also announced that starting next year, their 5600 and 5700 series graphic cards will be available in laptops as well. They also unveiled the monstrous Threadripper 3990X. It has 64 cores/128 threads. It is priced at almost $4000, which means it is costlier than some high end gaming PCs. But that isn’t the purpose of this CPU. It is meant for 3D rendering, which takes a lot of power.
