Airtel post-paid plans now offer free Netflix subscription, more data

Telecommunications giant Airtel has revised its post-paid plans now letting users more data than before. Apart from data and call benefits, Airtel is offering free subscription to streaming services including Netflix, Amazon Prime and Zee5.

The revised base pack now starts at Rs 499. The benefits with this pack include 75GB of 3G/4G data and the data rollover benefits as well. Users subscribing to this plan will also get unlimited calling and 100 SMSes per day. And with the Airtel Thanks benefits, subscribers get three months of Netflix subscription, 1 year of Amazon Prime subscription and Zee5 subscription.

The second pack costs Rs 749 and offers 125GB 3G/4G data along with data rollover benefits. Similar to Rs 499 plan, subscribers get unlimited free calls and 100 SMSes as well and the plan covers two regular connections and an add-on connection as well.

The third plan that costs Rs 999, offers more data and connections. Consumers will get 150GB of data with rollover benefits and unlimited calls and 100 SMSes per day. If you subscribe to this plan, you will also get three months of Netflix subscription, 1 year of Amazon Prime subscription and Zee5 subscription. You will also get access to Airtel TV and handset protection. Further, Rs 999 plan covers up to four regular connections and one add-on connection.

The most premium plan from Airtel costs Rs 1,599 and offers unlimited data and calls (local and STD). You will also get 200 minutes of ISD calls and up to 10 per cent discount on roaming packs. The Airtel Thanks are also applicable on this pack offering free subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Zee5.

The new pricing strategy comes at a time, when Airtel is facing fierce competition from Reliance Jio and BSNL in terms of market share on a monthly basis. Airtel has revised its post-paid plan prices to gain more subscribers and ultimately market share.
