Bangalore, India (February 05, 2015): Acer today announced it will be expanding support for 5th Generation Intel Core processors, adding the CPU to its hugely popular line of Aspire E5-571 notebooks in India. The move makes Acer the first PC vendor in India to retail notebooks powered by the 5th Generation Intel Core processors. The 5th Generation Intel Core processors have been designed to improve performance, graphics and battery life over previous versions.
“Acer continues leading the industry in computing innovation by enhancing the user experience. Consumers will now be delighted working on the E5-571 which now comes with the latest 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processor. Intel’s 14nm process delivers premium performance, stunning visuals, and battery life which take the device’s performance to the next level of computing.” said S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India.
“We’d like to congratulate Acer on bringing in the first set of devices based on the 5th Generation Intel Core processors. This new processor family is Intel’s latest wave of 14nm processors, delivering improved system and graphics performance, more natural and immersive user experiences, and enabling longer battery life compared to previous generations. The 5th Generation Intel Core processor is purpose-built for the next generation of computing devices offering a thinner, lighter and more efficient experience across diverse form factors as well as powerful performance while being power efficient and offering longer battery life. Devices based on this processor family are certainly the right choice for consumers who’re looking to buy a new device or refresh their old device” said Anand Ramamoorthy, Director Consumption Sales, Intel South Asia.
5th Gen Intel Core processors combine the power efficiency of the new 14nm process with improvements in processor instructions to deliver faster performance. The U series of 5th Gen Intel Core processors supports two cores and up to four threads with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel HT Technology). In addition, Intel Turbo Boost 2.02 dynamically controls the performance and power of both cores and graphics—boosting performance exactly where and when it is needed and saving energy when it counts.
Processor power design improvements across CPU, graphics, I/O, and power management, plus the increased power efficiency of Intel’s 14nm manufacturing process, combine to offer users an improved battery life vs. 4th gen Intel Core processors (U series).
5th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel HD graphics have a 15W thermal design point (TDP) with a configurable TDP (cTDP) down option. This delivers the balanced performance and battery life needed for thin, innovative 2-in-1s in addition to mainstream designs.
The Aspire E5-571 notebook with Windows 8.1, up to 12GB memory and 1TB hard disk, incorporates the latest NVIDIA GeForce 800M series card and provides an exceptional cinematic or gaming experience. Now powered by the 5th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, the notebook provides a performance packed experience and delivers upto 7 hrs of battery back-up. The notebook is equipped with a Precision Touchpad (PTP) that supports six core Windows 8.1 TouchPad gestures, reducing un-intended tap and cursor motions on the touchpad and improving pinch-to-zoom, smoother scrolling and screen navigation.
The device is also Skype Certified, offering one of the best Voice over IP (VoIP) experiences. Built-in digital microphone and high quality speakers enhance bass band audio performance and allow authentic Skype communication. It comes with a built-in optical drive and available in five colours: Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, Tiger’s Eye Brown, Sapphire Blue and Garnet Red.
The 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processor powered Aspire E5-571 is available in India with prices starting at Rs. 44999/-.
